What is DaaS Like a Pro?
DaaS Like a Pro is an independent, community-driven research project focused on Desktop-as-a-Service, VDI and Cloud PC. It was founded in 2013 as VDI Like a Pro by Mark Plettenberg, Ruben Spruijt and Christiaan Brinkhoff, and rebranded to DaaS Like a Pro in 2022 to reflect the industry's shift toward cloud-based solutions.
Every edition, results are published as freely available whitepapers, no vendor influence, no paywalls. The research exists to give EUC practitioners real-world data they can actually use.
A Decade of Growth
What started with a few hundred responses has grown into one of the most-cited EUC benchmarks in the industry:
What's New in 2026–2027
Each edition balances continuity with fresh questions. The 2026–2027 survey keeps 50–60% of recurring questions that track adoption trends over time, while introducing 40% new community-driven questions focused on:
- AI integration in EUC environments
- Windows 365 and Cloud PC adoption
- Security and compliance in hybrid work setups
- Evolving hybrid deployment models
Key Findings from Previous Years
If you want to know what the 2026–2027 data will be building on, here's what stood out in recent editions:
- DaaS adoption continues to expand, cloud-first strategies are now mainstream, not experimental.
- Cost remains the top challenge, licensing complexity and cloud spend keep appearing as primary concerns.
- User satisfaction is high, more than half of respondents actively recommend their current solution.
- Hybrid is the norm, 22% of organisations run hybrid deployment models, and that share keeps growing.
- Azure Virtual Desktop dominates, Microsoft's platform continues to lead market share by a wide margin.
